Motino Wash

It's Mottino, with two "T"s, not Motino with one "T". Mottino, with two "T"s is the name of one of the wheelers that originally discovered this trail. Mottino Wash

see the corrected page here; Mottino Wash

Hidden off Rattlesnake Canyon, where the mountains of Big Bear meet the desert of Johnson Valley, you will find this rough, rocky trail known as Motino Wash. Crumbling canyon walls fill Motino Wash with sharp, jagged rocks and some incredibly unique terrain. At just under 2 miles long, allow yourself 1-2 hours to complete this trail.

Ham Radio Repeater Information

147.330+ 131.8 / K6BB in Big Bear covers the surrounding area, but most of Motino Wash is difficult to get signal out of. The high canyon walls along this trail block most radio traffic, but the Big Bear repeater is workable from some points along Motino Wash.

This is a high power, reliable repeater that licensed hams can count on. Thanks, K6BB!
