About Chepo Saddle

Chepo Saddle, Forest Route number 6S13, is located just north of Bass Lake in the Sierra National Forest. This moderate dirt and rock trail stretches from Road 222 at its southern end to Sivils Ranch / 6S11 at its northern end.

Chepo Saddle is characterized by rutted dirt and small rocks until you reach the rock slabs in the middle of the trail. Beyond the slabs, Chepo Saddle transforms into a smooth dirt road that leads to Sivils Ranch.

In the middle of Chepo Saddle, you'll also find the more technical (and more fun :) ) rock crawling trail called Chepo Slide.

4-wheel drive is recommended for Chepo Saddle due to the presence of ruts and smaller rocks. For the optional Chepo Slide, a modified / lifted 4x4 vehicle would be more suitable.
