This 2015 2 door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock comes from the factory with front and rear e-lockers, electronic sway bar disconnect and 4:10 gearing.

Upgrades include a 2.5" AEV Dual Sport Lift, Poison Spyder JK 2-Dr Brawler Rockers and armor, Poison Spyder JK RockBrawler II Rear Bumper & Tire Carrier, Poison Spyder JK Brawler Lite Front Bumper & JK Brawler Lite Skid, Warn Zeon 10-S winch, 17" Method Race wheels and 35" Nitto Trail Grappler mud terrain tires. Bushwacker aluminum tube fender flares have replaced the factory fender flares for added tire clearance.

Underneath, the Jeep is fully armored with a Rock Hard 4x4 steel oil pan & transmission skid plate, transfer case skid plate, fuel tank skid plate and evap canister skid plate.

Differential covers on the factory Dana 44s have also been upgrade with Poison Spyder Bombshell Diff Covers.

A Genesis Offroad JK duel battery setup, AllPowers 100 watt flexible solar panel , an AllPowers 20 amp charge controller and on-board fridge and freezer (yes both) improve the overland capabilities of this Jeep.

The on-board Dometic CF-025DC 23 Liter is used as a fridge and a Dometic CFX-35W 32 Liter is used as a freezer ( GHL has to have ice for those on-the-rocks beverages ).

Other upgrades and modifications include a Smittybilt Defender roof rack, a 42” LED Light Bar, ARB twin air compressor with M.O.R.E. under-hood compressor mount and an sPod 6 switch panel.

Primary off-grid radio communications in this rig are handled by a Yaesu FTM-400DR, 144/430 MHz, 50 watt, dual band ham radio with APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) data communication capability and a Diamond NR770HB antenna.

More Radio Equipment

Additional radio communications in this Jeep include CB via a Cobra C-75 WX ST CB transceiver with a tune-able FireStick FS-4BK, 5/8 wave antenna and GMRS via a Midland MXT400, 40 Watt (GMRS) transceiver wired to a Midland MXTA11 6db gain antenna.

An advanced radio (HF) systems for far reaching, remote communications is carried in a radio "go-box" and includes a Yaesu FT-891 HF/50MHz 100 watt all mode transceiver , a Yaesu FC-50 external antenna tuner and home brew wire dipole antennas.

Also in the go-box is a back-up or field-deploy-able UHF/VHF APRS radio system consisting of a Yaesu FTM-400XD, 144/430 MHz 50 watt, dual band (HAM) transceiver with APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System), vehicle mounted Comet SSB-1 NMO antenna and a Diamond X30A dual-band base antenna.
